Homeless survive winter months with help of shelters, volunteers – via The Mercury News

“POTTSTOWN — With the bone-chilling temperatures of last week almost behind us, driving to work, taking children to school and accomplishing day-to-day errands has gotten easier.

“Having shelter, heat and the protection of winter clothing became a necessity while temperatures stayed well below freezing, often barely reaching zero degrees Fahrenheit.

“But for some area residents, staying out of the frigid weather last week became a matter of life and death — a worry that will not cease until the weather starts to warm up months from now.”
